RACE REPORT - BUSH ROAD RACES (26 June 2006)
Cameron Donald competed at the 'Bush Road Races' today in
Dungannon (Northern Ireland). Winning the No.1 Superbike
Race by 4.8 secs !!!
During Friday's qualifying session Cameron landed pole position for
the 600cc Supersport class and 5th on the Superbike. This is a
brand new road racing event so all competitors were on even ground
as no one had raced on this track before.
"We had a few problems with the bike during the qualifying
session so I was very happy to land pole for the 600. The boys
worked very late last night trying to get everything ready for
today so a huge thanks to Davy, Uel, Neil and the
team."
Cameron got off to a fine start and finished 1st place in the first
Superbike race. "It's great to have a win here. It's a tricky,
technical circuit so to win on my first race out I am really
pleased"
Unfortunately Cameron's bikes suffered problems in the 600
Supersport race and the 2nd Superbike race forcing him to retire in
both. "It's disappointing but these things happen. I was
really looking forward to the races after having success in the
first superbike race but today just wasn't my day."
"I'm heading down to Skerries next week so there will be a lot
of work between now and then to get everything sorted! At the end
of the day I came home with a win which is great for myself and the
Uel Duncan team"
Cameron races next weekend at Skerries (30/06 - 01/07)
Stay tuned for latest updates.
