Isle of Man 2012
It’s that time of year again…
TT 2012 is already upon us and I can’t wait to get out and ride the mountain course! Since my last update things have been busy to say the least. Northwest 200 was the first International road race of the year and all went well during the five day event. After mixed weather conditions costing me valuable set up time I qualified for all classes on the third row. This made getting clear of slower riders and away with the leaders a challenge in each race but in the end all worked out well.
My tally for the week was 4th & 4th in the 600cc Supersport races, 3rd & 6th on the 1000cc Superstock bike and 3rd & DNF on the Superbike.
Overall I was happy with my results as I was either on the podium or very near it in each of my races. Apart from a very minor brake issue causing me to retire from the final Superbike race the bikes ran well.
With so many top riders crashing out during the event, doing their TT preparations no good, I was happy to play it safe and take no unnecessary risks.
From the Northwest it was straight on the boat to the Isle of Man to have a few days rest before the TT kicks off. The weather has been magic all week and it was a great chance to chill out and catch up with friends.
Out on the trials bikes last night with Juan Knight was a chance for me to see parts of the Isle of Man I never knew existed. So many hidden valleys with trails just perfect for dirt bikes.
But now its down to business with TT practice starting Saturday evening…
Wish me luck!
